Romy was born in Zurich in 2007 into a family of musicians. She started playing the piano at the age of 5 and worked regularly with the Georgian pianist Nino Chokhonelidze. Since then she has won numerous prizes at competitions: she won the 1st prize with distinction at the final of the Swiss Youth Music Competition (SJMW) three times in a row - in 2017, 2019 and 2021, several prizes with chamber music formations and was honoured as a prizewinner at the Steinway Competition in Hamburg in 2021. 

In 2023 Romy played at the prestigious Odessa Classics Festival. In 2024 she performed several times as a soloist with orchestra, playing Grieg's Piano Concerto in A Minor and Bach's Concerto in D Minor. From 2019 to 2021, Romy attended the K&S support class at the Rämibühl-Gymnasium in Zurich, where she received piano lessons from Kateryna Tereshchenko. Since 2021 Romy has been in the talent class of Arta Arnicane at the Zurich Conservatory (MKZ). Since 2021 Romy attends the Gymnasium Stadelhofen and takes singing and ballet lessons in her spare time.​

Valdemar Wenzel Most is 19 years old. He grew up in a musical family and, in addition to the piano, also played the cello in the Zapolski Strings and sang in the Copenhagen Boys' Choir, where he also performed as a soloist as one of the three boys in Mozart's opera, *The Magic Flute*, at the Royal Theatre.

Valdemar is currently studying piano in the bachelor's programme with Kirill Gerstein at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin. Until September 2024, he studied piano with Bella Zapolski since he was 10 years old. Valdemar received the Gladsaxe Music Prize in April 2024, where he played Mozart's 23rd Piano Concerto with the Copenhagen Phil under the direction of Guy Braunstein, former concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

 

Valdemar won 2nd prize and the Carl Nielsen Prize at the Aarhus International Piano Competition 2023, where he played Rachmaninov's 3rd Piano Concerto, 1st movement, in the final with the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra and conductor Pierre Bleuse. In March 2024, Valdemar performed Mozart's 21st Piano Concerto with the Odense Symphony Orchestra and conductor Simon Gaudenz. Valdemar played as soloist in Beethoven's 4th Piano Concerto in a closed rehearsal at the Malko Academy in Denmark in January 2024. In the summer of 2024, Valdemar gave two concerts at ‘Sternstunden’ in the Glass House at the Tivoli Summer Classical Festival, together with Jonathan Swensen, Nicholas Swensen, Anna Agafia, Josephine Olech and Selma Teilmann, one of the concerts was broadcast live on DR P2. Valdemar played the 1st movement of Rachmaninov's 2nd Piano Concerto: Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra - Delyana Lazarova (conductor), 2023 - Copenhagen Phil - Christian Øland (conductor) at Tivoli, as part of the concert series ‘Masterpieces’, 2023 - South Denmark Philharmonic- Alessandro Bonato (conductor), 2023 Valdemar received the talent award at the Copenhagen Summer Festival 2023. At the concert he played both solo and chamber music with Jonathan Swensen and Selma Teilmann. The concert was broadcast live on DR P2 in the programme *P2 Koncerten*. Valdemar is the recipient of the Jacob Gade Scholarship 2023.


Valdemar was awarded 1st prize at the Steinway Piano Festival in Denmark in 2022 and was selected to represent Denmark at the international Steinway Piano Festival at the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg in September 2023. In April 2024 Valdemar participated in Steven Isserlis' prestigious masterclass IMS Prussia Cove. Valdemar won 2nd prize at the Nordic International Piano Competition 2021, along with three special prizes for: Best Romantic Interpretation, Best Viennese Classical Interpretation and Best Nordic Pianist. At the Jacob Gade Legacy competition ‘Den Unge Kammermusik Konkurrence’ in Aarhus, 2022, he won a gold medal with his ensemble, the Zapolski Piano Quintet. He also performed with this quintet at the Royal Theatre as part of the celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the ballet school. Valdemar was awarded the Talent Prize and a Gold Medal at the Berlingske Klassiske Musikkonkurrence in 2019. He also won 2nd prize in the Nordic Junior Piano Competition and the Grand Prix at the Concertino Malmö International Music Festival. Valdemar received the Jacob Gade Talent Scholarship 2018.

 

 

Valdemar has played chamber music together with Torleif Thedéen, Andreas Brantelid, Marianna Shirinyan, Ludvig Gudim, Anna Agafia, Jonathan Swensen, Nicholas Swensen, Josephine Olech, Hratchya Avanesyan, Jon Gjesme, Maja Bogdanovic and Selma Teilmann. He has given concerts in Denmark and abroad. He has performed abroad at the Stockholm College of Music, the Ingesund College of Music, in Gothenburg and Malmö. He has also played in Oslo, Krakow, Zywiec and Korzkiew in Poland. Valdemar has taken part in masterclasses with Leif Ove Andsnes, Marianna Shirinyan, Ewa Pobłocka, Péter Nagy, Miroslaw Herbowski, Håvard Gimse, Julia Mustonen-Dahlkvist, Per Tengstrand and Aristo Sham.
